Sanjiva: Thanky for publishing this memoir of the SOAP odyssey. It was an incredible journey, creating an interoperable SOA protocol framework. We were a great crew!

Doty G: Yes, Dave Winer, Bob Atkinson, and Mohsen Al-Ghosein created the first version of SOAP. Here is a link to an early version: http://www.xmlrpc.com/spec .

Another crucial, early contributor was Henrik Frystyk Nielsen, who introduced the idea of protocol intermediaries and the SOAP header elements to support them.
